As our economy depends upon oil prices fixed by foreign oil providers, we are beginning to behave like adults and adapting to the rigors of reality by adopting a more efficient driving process. At the same time, new rules are emerging as the price of oil continues to sky rocket.


In an increasingly competitive marketplace, all energy dependent countries are searching for the elusive key to success, they need look no further: Moment-O-Meter promotes energy independence for any vehicle in any transportation category, even in highly competitive industries where smaller players are beset upon by larger, better-funded competitors.
 

- Let me tell you my story

I am a retired aeronautical engineer. In the fall of 2004,

my daughter who is a teacher in Atlanta, Georgia was

complaining about the price of gasoline and I advised her

to visit the US Department of Energy web site where she

would learn about how to drive efficiently.  She tried to

follow all the tips but her MPG did not increase.  While we

were discussing this, I entered the phrase “efficient driving”

on my Google search engine to see if there was anything easier

I could recommend to her. The highest ranked listing for this

phrase on Google was the State of Michigan web site listing

numerous common sense tips for Energy Efficient Driving.

What was most interesting was that the link pointed to a single

web page tips as follows.

There were good tips but something was missing!

 
  1. Combine trips for shopping and errands; Avoid unnecessary trips.
  2. Use the telephone or e-mail to communicate.
  3. For short trips, walk or ride a bike.
  4. Join a carpool or use public transit to and from work or school;
  5. Don’t idle the car for more than one minute;
  6. Drive the speed limit, or below, for better mileage;
  7. Overdrive gears improve the fuel economy of your car during highway driving;
  8. Avoid sudden bursts of speed, tailgating and pumping the accelerator pedal.
  9. Gradual starts and stops result in less fuel use and less wear and tear;
  10. Out on the open highway, keep windows rolled up to reduce drag;
  11. Using a vehicle’s air conditioner on a hot summer day can decrease mileage;
  12. If it’s cool enough, use the flow-through ventilation on your car instead of the air conditioner;
  13. Travel during off-peak hours when possible; Take the shortest route with the best roads;
  14. Use the cruise control -- it can save fuel by maintaining a steady speed;
  15. Keep tires at the recommended air pressure;
  16. Keep your car engine properly tuned;
  17. Remove bicycle and ski racks when not in use;
  18. Excess weight uses more fuel. Remove unnecessary items from inside the vehicle, trunk or truck bed;
  19. Use the lowest octane gasoline recommended by the manufacturer;
  20. When buying a new car, make fuel efficiency a priority.

 
 

 

Then I decided to attempt to build an instrument showing my daughter the momentum of her car as simply as possible because I did not want her to be diverted from the driving. The rest is history. As of today Moment-O-Meter is manufactured here in the USA and aimed to change vehicles' (from a small sedan to an eighteen wheeler) fuel energy consumption forever. How cool is that?

 

- The missing vehicle instrument was born
Three years of Research & Development provided me with the great satisfaction of having developed a patentable “inertial mass detector indicator device for vehicles” that I call “Moment-O-Meter” because people are already familiar with the term Speed-O-Meter showing their car’s speed. I believe they will have no problem to understand that Moment-O-Meter shows their car’s momentum,

After being satisfied with the prototypes’ performance, I decided to test it on my own mini van and other cars I would rent for the purpose of collecting more data. I discovered that Moment-O-Meter allowed me to outperform the results obtained by the US Department Of Energy National Laboratory, Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Imagine the number of gallon of oil saved from one car – mine.
Now multiply this by 245,000,000 and you will have the solution to our energy independence because if we save fuel collectively, buying most of foreign oil will become unnecessary.
